Mother Daughter Workshop
I attended True You: Mother and Daughter Workshop held by Anglican Trust for Women and Children in Glen Innes. It was a great experience and I felt I got closer to my Mum. The women running it were very nice and had fun activities planned for us and made me feel very welcome. I especially liked the activity where we got to draw a positive experience from the past and talk about it. I drew my team at a Waterpolo tournament with my parents cheering me on. I really like when my parents come to support me in my achievements. My Mum drew herself and siblings in a blow up boat in an estuary at Karekare beach. She said it was a memorable moment from her childhood as it made her think of family and simple times. At the end they gave us a workbook to do fun activities with each other at home. We ended with lighting candles while meditating it was an amazing and creative way to end the workshop and it was a moment to reflect on my relationship with my Mum.
This was a very fun experience and I'm so grateful that I was there.
